About Us
When Leanne became a mother-in-law for the first time about
13 years ago, she looked for some guidance on how not to be the
kind of mother-in-law most of the stories and websites depict.
Sadly, she found no such information either in the library or
the bookstore. Now a mother-in-law for the second time, the
books now available still do not have information from
mothers-in-law and children-in-law about what works. The
websites that have popped up are overwhelmingly negative. We
want to change that. Over the next few months we will be holding
focus groups and designing a survey for both mothers-in-law and
children-in-law to take that will give positive,
solution-focused information for all of you out there searching
for that kind of guidance.
Leanne:
Marriage and family therapist; retired Naval Officer. Married, 2
grown children, one son-in-law and one daughter-in-law, two
grandchildren.
Ileene:
Former public school teacher; now a university teacher.
Married, 3 grown children, two sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law,
four grandsons. As a recipient of three wonderful mates for our
three children, I feel convicted to try to do some small part
to help those out there who are struggling with in-law
relationships. Some books and articles out there are extremely
helpful, some are not. We hope the work we do on this website
can be a help to all of us in these relationships. We can all
learn together.
Zannette:
Computer scientist and survey researcher. Married, 1 young
daughter. |
